Life isn't meant to be lived sedentary, stationary, never changing and never moving. Sometimes we are called to seasons of quiet or rest, to "be still and know that He is God." But even in "still times", we should be changing, allowing the Holy Spirit to change and mold into looking more like our beautiful, beloved Christ.
Two years ago at this time, I was nearing the end of three months in South America. I lived with two host families, helped TA at an International School, did sports ministry (don't worry, I took pictures, I didn't play ;) and grew ALOT. (I learned much in South America... one thing being that if you drop your sweatshirt on the bathroom floor in the Recife airport and then still use it instead of immediately sealing it in a plastic bag to be washed later, you still live! *Love you, Mommy* ;) <3
Anyways, now, two years after my "grand adventure" to South America, I am off again! This time, I'm headed to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, to study for my undergraduate in Nonprofit Management.
Many things have happened in the past two years... I've had my first "real job"; I've cried and prayed through great sorrow; I've gone on a missions' trip to Mexico and ended up in the ER; I've witnessed the engagement and/or marriage of friends my own age; and I've prayed and packed as I set off for the Lone Star State.
There has been moments that I've been envious of my friends who are only an hour away from home. They can come home for the weekend, their parents can bring them their alarm clock if they forgot it, and friends can come visit.
Then I realize where I am going and why... and I wouldn't change it for anything. Because "life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all."
When God has opened every door, an obedient child has no choice but to walk directly through them. And why would you want to do anything but walk through them?
My goal is to post about once a month to keep everyone updated on the Texas happenings. I'll do my best ;)
I've truly be OVERWHELMED by all of the love and support that you'all have poured out upon me... cards and prayers and Scripture verses and gifts, THANK YOU! I love you <3
May God bless you and keep you, make His face to shine upon you, and give you peace. My prayers is that you will fall head over heels in love with Jesus... 'cuz it's a crazy fun adventure!
