I have a fun life, I'll admit it. It's not that it's all roses and sunshine, or all laughter and good times, but I have been exceedingly blessed. I have all of my needs met, and a lot of my wants. I saw the Lord answer a prayer today that was purely a desire... I could've lived without it, I didn't NEED it, but because it was important to me, it was important to the Lord.
Sometimes I think we walk blindly along, oblivious to the kind of life we lead. As teenagers, as Americans, as Christians.
As teenagers, our cultures has created this "stage" where we aren't children, but we aren't forced into adulthood yet. (I am not saying all of the effects of this are positive ~ irresponsibility, immaturity, and ungratefulness are some of my biggest pet-peeves! ;) However, I am glad that I have a few extra years to learn, mature, grow, and try different things before I am an "adult." We are blessed as teenagers because our parents provide for us, and teach us, and we get to have the fun!
As Americans... well, where do I start? Many have attempted to explain how blessed we are, and after being out of the country twice, I don't think the blessing of this country can be explained adequately in words. It's just amazing... (right down to the fact that we have traffic laws that are obeyed and enforced. You don't realize how important that is until you chat with an African missionary who sees death every day in the streets because cars run over people.) It's the little things in life, truly.
Blessed as Christians: this one is deep, and words probably won't be good enough to explain it. We can start with eternal life; and then our relationship with Jesus. A deep, personal, intimate relationship with your Best Friend. You can never be too needy, to unstable, too OCD, too rough, or anything and turn Him off. He is faithfulness, justice, and mercy. He is Unconditional Love.
We are blessed.
